What gets more ethereal than white lace and stunning pleats? Absolutely nothing! This pretty chiffon dress from Sammy Dress is an absolute stunner and perfect for a warm summers day or a destination holiday and I was lucky enough to be gifted this number along with one other that you'll see in an upcoming post from the lovely people at Sammy Dress.
Sammy Dress is an affordable online fashion store that I had heard a lot about via the trusty internet and I must admit not everything that I had heard about this site was positive so when I was contacted by their reps and asked to pick out a couple of items for review, I jumped at the opportunity so that I could make a judgement for myself that wasn't influenced by the internet.
Dealing with their reps was smooth sailing and in no time I had picked the items I wanted off the website and the items were shipped out via the flat rate postage option which normally takes 10 - 20 days to arrive to the UK. My package arrived in 7 days which was quicker than I had anticipated and I was very happy about this because if you know me I'm really impatient and can't stand waiting.
The first item I had picked out to review was this stunning chiffon dress in today's post which was super affordable at only £7.75!! Yes you read that right, your eyes are definitely not deceiving you. Not Only is this dress kind on your bank balance but it also comes in three other colours; black, mint green and pink. This pretty pleated dress is definitely very similar to what I saw on the website and the chiffon material is of very good quality and keeps the structure of the frills and pleats very well. It is also fully lined which is great for covering one's modesty and it was finished impeccably with no loose threads, snags or anything of that nature so I was not disappointed in that regard.
The only two things that I didn't like about this dress was that the sleeves were substantially shorter than the picture displayed on the website and I think the sizing is also a little bit off. The sleeves were meant to be full sleeves that come all the way down to your wrists but as you can see form the pictures they only come up about 3/4 which worked for me as I'm a petite girl but it might not work for someone taller or someone who simply doesn't like the 3/4 sleeve look.
According to the website this dress is meant to be a one size fits all dress covering sizes XS to M but I must say this is probably unlikely as I am a XS to S in dresses and this dress was super short on me with the lining even shorter and just about covering my lady bits lol. As lovely as this dress is I wouldn't recommend you getting it if you're a size M and if you're taller than 5 feet because unless you want to wear it as a top, I don't think it'll do much for covering your modesty. Other than those two small issues that I found with the dress, I absolutely love it and as you can see from the pictures below it fits me quite well and looks gorgeous.
I kept the styling fun and added my DIY pom pom sandals for a striking contrast against the clinical white of the dress and I kept my hair in a loose pony tail and threw on some gold hoops to give off that relaxed holiday vibe. I really hope you guys enjoyed this post and got a little bit of an insight into my experience with Sammy Dress. I will be reviewing another item from them very soon so keep your eyes peeled for that but in the meantime I would love to know your thoughts on this outfit and also of any personal experience you may have had with Sammy Dress. Talk soon loves xx
