Hey Dolls! So no long speeches about being away and why I've been away etc I'm just glad to be back and glad for the sexy ass weather we have been having lately. That being said I just wanted to share some of my favourite spring nude lipsticks that are great for women of colour who are my shade or slightly lighter and even darker. I've always been a big fan of my bright and bold lipstick colours but this spring I decided to branch put a little bit and incorporate a few more nudes into my lipstick collection without breaking the bank. I must say it is very difficult picking a nude that matches my skin tone but after a little searching I found three nudes that I have really enjoyed using.
The first is this lovely Collection lipstick which is a mauve nude with a slight blue undertone. I really like this nude lipstick because it doesn't make me look ashy like some others have in the past and I love it's texture. It's really moisturising and has a slight frost finish. I would definitely recommend using a brown lip liner for this lipstick for my chocolate sisters just to make sure it blends well but I have definitely enjoyed using this lipstick a lot and its a bargain at only £2.99! Win!
I do love my matte lispsticks for their staying power and colour payoff and I had to try out a matte nude lipstick. This matte nude with a peach undertone is a great bargain at only £1 from MUA and I must say I am really impressed with it. It is not drying and lasts so well on the lips and again does not wash out my complexion and make me look ashy at all. I think a brown lip liner is necessary with this lipstick if you are my complexion but it can be used without one for someone slightly lighter.
My last purse friendly nude is another MUA nude in shade 11. It also has a peach undertone but unlike Fawn Fancy it is has a very creamy texture and I would liken it to a MAC cream sheen lipstick. I love the peach undertone which is slightly warmer than that of Fawn Fancy because it looks really good on my skintone especially during this time of year when I tend to go for minimal makeup. I really like this lipstick and it is absolutely purse friendly at only £1.
That's it loves! These is my current very small nude lipstick collection which I have every intention of expanding because I never thought nude lipsticks were my thing but I totally surprised myself by how much I have been loving using these lipsticks. Let me know if any of you have tried any of these out and I would also love some recommendations on some good nude lipsticks for women of colour; high end or low end. Hope you enjoyed this post guys, come back soon! Toodles!
