Another Tuesday, another outfit and today I'm sharing one from my recent trip to London. If you follow me on Instagram, you'd have seen via my stories that I took a trip down to London for a lot of work and a little play with my girl Taylor. We were both feeling very uninspired by the Birmingham scenery and thought that it would be a good idea to take a trip down to the big smoke to get inspired and shoot loads of content. It was the best decision. Not only did we get loads of work done but we also had a lot of fun doing it.
Whilst walking around Piccadilly we stopped on a quiet street and shot these pictures which were completely inspired by the rug you see behind me. It's so funny because something like that would have never inspired me in my usual surroundings and that just goes to show that sometimes getting out of your comfort zone can be highly beneficial.
The outfit itself is centred around this amazing paper-bag midi skirt that I got in the Stradivarius sale. I had my eye on it for a while and once it went into the sale I placed it straight into my basket and was handing over my monies. I struggled a little bit with styling on this skirt because I didn't know how best to showcase the skirt while still keeping true to who I was. After a little bit of experimenting I landed on this super cool and casual outfit where I paired the skirt with a band tee from Liquor n' Poker. I love a good t-shirt and if it comes with personality by the bucket load in the form of a cool graphic, print or slogan then I'm all for it. This t-shirt ticked all the right boxes and I felt like it complimented the skirt beautifully to make it day time appropriate. I added my favourite mules from Just Fab to finish the outfit off and also added a string bag which was a bargain purchase from Primark.
I love how this look turned out; super cool, feminine and very much me. I also love that all the items in this look are items I can wear time and time again; the skirt in particular. I can totally see myself wearing this out to dinner with an off the shoulder body suit, heels and a clutch bag. I can't wait to style this skirt in a few more ways and really showcase it's versatility and I've actually got my eyes on the khaki version because I know it would be a great addition to my wardrobe too.
What do you think of this daytime outfit? How would you style this Stradivarius skirt for day or night?
