The Busy Girl’s Skincare Routine With Ark Skincare

I have such a love hate relationship with skincare routines. Love because they are necessary to keep your skin looking lovely and healthy but hate because they can be so tedious and time consuming. I know I'm not the only who's fallen asleep with makeup on because they couldn't be bothered with a skincare routine; especially after a night out. Granted I haven't done that in a long time but it's mainly because I've now found a skincare routine which isn't work but rather works for me. It's super quick and easy and involves only a handful of products, 3 of which are from Ark Skincare and I'll be talking about these beauties today.

If you haven't heard of Ark Skincare before, it is basically a British skincare brand which focuses on treating skin by age and skin concern. It also does this by using bio active ingredients which contain antioxidants, lipids and skin nourishing vitamins. This brand was perfect for me because I'm approaching my 30's and with a lot of skincare currently marketed towards teen or ageing skin it can be quite hard to find something for inbetweeners like myself. I also love that it has ranges for specific skincare concerns because my skincare needs are quite specific. I suffer from dull skin and hyperpigmentation so these are always at the forefront of my mind when picking my skincare. Luckily for me Ark Skincare have a range that targets my specific problems and I was able to find some products that were right for me.

The first product from Ark skincare which I've incorporated into my routine is an exfoliator. If you've ever suffered from hyperpigmentation then you'll know that exfoliation is key to getting rid the top layer of skin in order to fade marks and give way to brighter and clearer skin. I use the *Skin Perfector triple action exfoliator which contains Alpha Hydroxy acids (AHAs), Abyssinian oil and skin regenerating enzymes. These ingredients are brought together in an oil-milk formula which diminishes skin imperfections and increases cell regeneration to promote radiant and youthful skin. I use this exfoliator twice a week as directed and I must say it has done wonders for my skin. It's amazing that something so gentle can slough away dead skin and debris from the skin to reveal a more polished and plump texture.

This exfoliator's formulation is perfect for all ages and depending on what your age range is the way you use it may vary. I simply apply it to my dampened face and neck after cleansing with my Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix cleanser. I then lightly massage into my skin using circular movements making sure to avoid the delicate eye area. After massaging I remove the exfoliator with a cloth soaked in hot water and pat dry. Quick and easy which is just how I like it and then I'm on to my next step.

Replenishing the skin's moisture levels after exfoliating is always important and I like to do this by using a moisturising serum. I'm currently using the Ark Skincare *Skin Perfector Radiance Serum and as far as serums go this one is pretty awesome. It contains amino Acids which brighten and even out the skin tone to make your skin more luminous and dewy. It also helps reduce sun and age spots with the use of Red Algea and it gives skin a lovely glow. Would definitely recommend this if you're a glow seeker.

This serum has made the biggest difference to my skin and I have definitely seen my skin improve in leaps and bounds since introducing it to my routine. I also love the no mess pipette it comes with to make sure product isn't wasted and I love that a little goes a long way. I use 2-3 drops everyday, day and night and I'll either apply the serum directly to my face or mix it into my moisturiser when I'm feeling a little bit lazy. Perfect for busy days when you could do with missing a step in your skincare. I absolutely love it!

After applying my serum I go in with a moisturiser to add an extra layer or moisture and replenishment to the skin. I always thought that if you have oily skin moisture is the enemy but with a little bit of education I find out that the more moisture you add to your skin the better. The skin is a clever little thing I tell ya; when you deprive your skin of moisture it only produces more oils to overcompensate for the lack in moisture and then that causes spots, dullness and you guessed it, hyperpigmentation. So trust me if you're an oily girl like me, moisture is not the enemy, it's the saviour.

I use the Nip + Fab Post Glycolic SPF30 as my prefered moisturiser but I add the *Regenerating Skin Defence treatment serum over it to provide an extra layer of protection and nourishment to the skin. I sometimes use this treatment serum before my moisturiser as it's very versatile. Some may think two serums is a little excessive but this is what works for me and at the end of the day we all have to do what is right for our skin right?

This serum has Hyaluronic acid which intensely moisturises the skin while providing plumpness and firmness. It also has anti inflammatory properties which helps reduce redness; perfect if you're having an active breakout. It's a great all rounder which has so many skin benefits such as improving skin elasticity, boosting skin regeneration and protecting the skin against environmental stresses. What more can you ask for from a product? It has truly helped in getting my skin to great health and I can honestly say dull skin and hyperpigmentation no longer cause me stress.

I still get the odd breakout now and then especially around that time of the month and yes my spots still leave marks but now I have three amazing and effective products that have helped me keep my concerns under control. More importantly they have worked into my routine and made skincare a joy rather than a chore like was previously the case. I definitely hope to work a few more Ark Skincare products into my routine maybe to replace some of my firm faves from Nip + Fab because my experience with Ark has been great thus far. So if you've tried some products from Ark Skincare that you think may work for me, recommendations are welcome. Also let me know in the comments below what your skincare concerns are and how you go about tackling them. There's nothing quite like girls coming together and sharing tips, who knows who you might help.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post on my busy girls skincare with Ark Skincare products and I hope it encourages you to try the brand if you haven't already. I also hope you enjoy the no makeup pic which I wouldn't have been able to do before because of the previous state of my skin but now with Ark Skincare it's come a long way and is brighter, more radiant and share worthy! Have a great weekend loves!
*Ark Skincare kindly gifted me with products of my choice for this post but I have tested these products over 3 months and all views are my own.*
